Job Description:
Makes regular tours of plant and equipment assisting in plant operations; Monitors gauges, meters, control panels, etc.; Records readings from meters and instruments; Checks functioning of equipment; Regulates and adjusts motors, pumps, blowers, valves and other apparatus to meet changing operating conditions; Performs various tests and takes samples of influent and effluent; Operates dewatering press; Skims grease from settling tanks; Pumps sludge, drains tanks, cleans clarifiers; Cleans and services pumps, motors and other equipment; Makes minor or emergency repairs and performs minor preventive maintenance on plant equipment;
Experience Required:
Graduation high school and experience while certified as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification at a minimum of level I by the State of North Carolina for Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators.
